RAC Auto Windscreens

RAC Auto Windscreens is the UK’s leading fleet automotive glazing company and has partnerships with most insurance providers. It is a unique company, having its own windscreen factory in Chesterfield, producing over 250,000 screens a year. Auto Windscreens wanted to make productivity improvements through the use of the NVQ qualification in Business Improvement Techniques (BIT).

A Manufacturing Assessment was carried out to identify the opportunities that existed for improvement, and to select the units of BIT NVQ best suited to meet the business’ needs. The unique offer from CIF tailors the qualification to suit the individual needs of the business and is not just an “off the shelf” offer, delivering the underpinning knowledge, assessment and supporting the collation of evidence for the candidates’ portfolios. And so it was structured in such a way that there was minimum disruption to operations at Auto Windscreens.

West Nottinghamshire College (WNC) provided full funding for eligible candidates for this qualification through Train to Gain.
